This Sunday, they line up in the Grand Final at East Burwood Reserve, taking on a side they haven’t faced all year — a fresh matchup between the top two teams of the competition. First ball is 9:30am.

A season of hard work, growth, and grit has led to this moment, and the group is ready to bring their best cricket to the decider.

Today at East Box Hill Cricket Club, we proudly renamed the Railway End of Howard Wilson Oval the “Gill End”, in honour of Andrew Gill and his outstanding service to our club.

Apologies for the late notice and the secrecy — we wanted to keep it a surprise for Gilly!

If you’re around today, head down to congratulate the great man while he competes in his do-or-die semi final against Mitcham, and check out the new sign.

It’s a proud moment for East Box Hill Cricket Club, with two of the great names of our club now recognised at either end of the ground — the Gill End and the McGary (Whitehorse Road) End.

A well-deserved honour for a fantastic contributor to the club. 💪🏏

East Box Hill will be 𝗵𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗠𝗶𝘁𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗺 across 𝗦𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆, and the group is locked in to keep the winning momentum rolling right through the long weekend.

Returning to cricket after several years away from the game, Sahil made his East Box Hill debut this season and immediately became a key figure in the senior program. His impact has been outstanding:

- A brilliant 100 not out to launch his return
- Leadership and connection through his role as a junior coach
A remarkable comeback season and a thoroughly deserved winner.
