The medal is awarded to the junior player who receives the most votes at the end of the Home & Away season. Votes are awarded by the team coaches, who may seek advice or guidance from the club coach and junior coordinators. Votes are awarded on the following basis:

• Maximum 10 votes per game

• Maximum 5 votes per player

• Maximum 5 players may receive votes in each game
