At East Box Hill Cricket Club, the safety and wellbeing of children and young people is a priority.
We are committed to providing a welcoming, inclusive and child-safe environment where children and young people can enjoy cricket, feel respected and supported, and participate free from abuse, bullying, harassment, discrimination, grooming or other inappropriate behaviour.
Child safety is everyone’s responsibility. We expect all Committee members, coaches, team managers, volunteers, players, parents and others involved with our Club to help create an environment where children and young people feel safe, included and able to speak up.

Child Safety & Complaints Officer
Kate is the Club’s point of contact for child safety concerns and complaints.
Children, young people, parents, carers and Club members are welcome to speak with Kate if they:

have a concern about the safety or wellbeing of a child or young person

have experienced or witnessed behaviour that does not feel appropriate
-
would like to make a complaint
-
need help understanding what to do or who to speak with

would simply like some guidance or support.
Any concern will be listened to and treated sensitively and respectfully. Kate can help explain the available options and, where appropriate, assist with referral to the Club, Cricket Victoria or other relevant services.
There may be circumstances where information must be shared or reported in accordance with child protection laws, Australian Cricket policies or other legal obligations.
Anyone suspecting of an incident or situation in which a child is in a compromising or abusive situation must contact the relevant authorities below. A confidential incident report form can be found in the Safeguarding Children and Young People Policy on our website.
